5/16/2023 0 Comments J line wheels prices![]() ![]() So back to my original point, I probably could buy from Finish Line and take it to Custom Alignment, since they are careful enough not to cause any damage to wheels. If they have issues with needing too much weight for balancing on the first pass, they take off the tire and align the stiffest (heaviest) point of the tire with the lightest point on the wheel. They have the road force measurement equipment, which locates all the slightly stiff spots of the tire, which are invariably the slightly heavier parts of the tire. Their equipment can also check for the wheel balance by itself even without the tire mounted. Their TC3500 doesn't even have any metal that touches the wheel. The shop I use in Mountain View (Custom Alignment) has all the best Hunter tire mounting and balancing gear. The rep from Finish Line was saying they have that restrictive disclaimer because people buy wheels, and a low-dollar shop beats them up trying to mount tires, and then people try and return them saying that the balance is off, or something to that effect. and if there is a problem, I could return it ONLY if no damage, scratching, or scuffing occurs to the wheel. Waiting on an email response from FinishLine. How could anybody find out they have a bad wheel until somebody tries to balance it ? !! Even if they did guarantee the above, they specifically state you can't return them once they are on a wheel balancer. No statements are made on the roundness, balance, or straightness on their website. And the quality guarantee only covers the cosmetic finish. So essentially, it seems that there is no real guarantee on the roundness, straightness, or balance specs. Attached below is the warranty statement from FinishLine. ![]()
